CHRISTINA LAPPA: WOMAN, LIGHT, AND MEMORY

Visual Art Sur – March 2025

At Visual Art Sur, we are truly delighted to share the work of an artist who speaks directly to the soul. Christina Lappa, born in Venezuela and rooted in Greece, beautifully weaves together the vibrant intensity of her birthplace with the timeless elegance of her ancestral heritage.

“I paint because this is what I love to do. I’ve been painting since I was a student, and my dream has always been to move people through my art.”

Christina’s words reflect the essence of her work—art born from passion, color, and deep emotional resonance.

She has painted since childhood, studied interior design in Spain, and now lives in Greece, where she works as an architect and interior designer for homes, commercial spaces, and hotels. Yet it is through painting that her inner world finds its truest expression.

Her art is a dance of light and movement. Vibrant colors, bold contrasts, mixed media compositions, and signature parrots that seem to leap from the canvas—all orbit around a central, poetic figure: the woman. Christina’s women are mothers, daughters, and dreamers; they walk freely through space and time, dancing across the stage of life with grace and freedom.

Over the years, her figures have evolved—from solid, realistic forms to ethereal, almost translucent silhouettes, always in motion, always becoming. With simple lines, bold colors, and a minimalist visual language, Christina explores life, femininity, and the spirit.

This exhibition comes to us thanks to the generous invitation from Vasia Deliyianni, a renowned curator and museum specialist, whose extraordinary experience has made this presentation possible and accessible for all of us to enjoy.

The event will take place on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., at the Gallery of the Consulate General of Greece in New York. It is a journey through history where women take center stage—but it’s the colors and textures that reveal her origin: Christina belongs to the Venezuelan Caribbean, and her art proudly reflects it.

Visual Art Sur warmly invites you to this unforgettable event—where art transcends borders, evokes emotion, and unites cultures through the vision of a woman who paints what she loves.
