Nora Ellis’s Masterpiece Takes Center Stage at Bendhaim Gallery’s Glamorous Gala in Greenwich, CT on May 13 2023.
May 11, 2023
We are delighted to announce that Nora Ellis has been selected by curator Tatiana Mori to be a part of a collective exhibit featuring 20 talented artists. The exhibit, held at the Benhaim Gallery in the Greenwich Art Council, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of this prestigious organization located in Greenwich, CT. Nora’s art piece, “My Other Half,” is a mix media work that explores themes of individuality, love, romance, and separation through the use of whites and deep blues.
The artist, who hails from Venezuela and currently resides in Greenwich, created this artwork during the pandemic, and the difficult times of lockdown and social distancing have had a profound impact on her work. “My Other Half” reflects the complexities of human relationships and the powerful emotions that underpin them. The layered composition, visible brushstrokes, and range of textures convey a sense of movement and energy, representing the turbulence and complexity of love and relationships.
The title of the piece suggests a sense of duality or opposing forces, echoed in the use of light and dark tones in the artwork. The whites symbolize purity, innocence, and new beginnings, while the deep blues represent depth and emotion. This contrast may also reflect the idea of two individuals or two paths coming together and then separating, each retaining their own unique identity.
Overall, “My Other Half” is a thought-provoking artwork that invites the viewer to reflect on the complexities of human relationships. We invite you to join us at the Benhaim Gallery on May 13th to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Greenwich Art Council and to view Nora’s inspiring artwork alongside other talented artists.”
